What We Do

A program of Terrain, Window Dressing fills vacant buildings and unused spaces with short-term art installations, pop up events and creative enterprises.

Developed to add vibrancy, revitalize neighborhoods and spark the creative economy, Window Dressing empowers local artists, arts-based businesses and community groups to generate activity in otherwise empty properties.

Artscapes

Picture this: A city where even the most underutilized places — boarded-up buildings, vacant storefronts, abandoned alleyways — are seen as opportunities to bring people together and foster community pride. A city that sees possibility around every corner, in every neighborhood, where every space has the potential to inspire.

Through our Artscapes program, Terrain works with property owners and artists to turn vacant and disused spaces into temporary 2D, 3D, and digital art installations, breathing new life into these locations and highlighting their true potential.

Creative Enterprise

We believe local artists, makers, and arts-based businesses have the power to transform Spokane into a more economically diverse, just, and vibrant city.

Through our Creative Enterprise program, participants get the chance to test their ideas with little risk by matching them with affordable space for up to six months in targeted areas. In addition, they receive in-depth professional development, one-on-one coaching, business resources, and ongoing technical support—everything they need to turn their creative dreams into sustainable businesses.
