What We Do

A program of Terrain, Window Dressing fills vacant buildings and unused spaces with short- term art installations and Creative Entrepreneurs.

Developed to add vibrancy, revitalize neighborhoods and spark the creative economy, Window Dressing empowers local artists, arts-based businesses and community groups to generate activity in otherwise empty properties.

Artscapes

Imagine a city that transforms some of its most troubled spaces - boarded up buildings, vacant storefronts, abandoned alleyways - into vibrant opportunities for its citizens to engage. A city that maximizes every space, and sees promise and opportunity, even in the areas of greatest blight.

Through our Artscapes program, Terrain works with property owners and artists to create temporary 2D, 3D and digital art installations in vacant and disused spaces, converting some of the most distressed locations into places of inspiration, captivation and community pride.

Creative Enterprise

We believe local artists, arts-based businesses, and creative entrepreneurs have the potential to transform Spokane into a more economically diverse, stronger and more vibrant city.

Through our Creative Enterprise program, we allow these businesses to test ideas with little risk by matching them with low cost space for up to six months in targeted areas. Creative Enterprise participants also receive in-depth professional development, one-on-one coaching, business resources and ongoing technical assistance as part of this grass-roots, community-oriented program.
